Ruger PC9 or something else?

Currently I’m looking to run a Ruger PC9 Takedown as my camping rifle. But with the C21 I’m worried it will get banned and won’t be able to carry it. Is there any alternative that will be as effective and compact as pc9 and safe from Justin?
 
A dynamic with which you will likely soon become familiar revolves around a) relatively low post count, new-ish member, b) posting questions which can easily be construed as 'what else can we ban?' though perhaps asked with no such motive. There are, sadly, a lot of Liberal party workers here, eager to earn points back at the office with newly compiled lists of firearms which are equivalent to others already on the ban lists. Might even get a bonus!

So a lot of these kinds of posts get hammered with sarcasm. And considering the atmosphere, it's easy to understand why, and hard to blame anyone for it. I would suggest going to the root Pistol Calibre Carbine forum then browsing through patiently, clicking threads and reading people's experiences, educating yourself as to the options. Or you could just do what many others have done; buy what you like, knowing that when we're all effectively made criminals by an illegitimate ban, we'll accept our new identities as criminals as a badge of honour and turn nothing in.
 
Sadly to see it becoming this way. I think Justin is already winning.

Agree with most of the posts above, but if you really want to reduce the risk, you'd best stay away from semi auto and detachable magazines. Note that there is no guarantee this will keep you in the clear, but it's likely that more traditional-looking firearms will be available in Canada for a longer period.

A lever action Winchester 1892 clone in 357/38Spl will fill a similar role to the Ruger PCC. And frankly it is a much, much nicer gun. If you reload, you may consider the same thing chambered in 44 or 45.
 
To see where Canadian gun laws are heading , just look at New Zealand gun laws as that is the template that Trudeau is using . Fortunately Trudeau is taking the Liberal party down in flames , and will burn it to the ground next election . Probably best to buy used when buying semi autos , and keep any new purchases off the back door registries that the dealers have to maintain for sales .

I'd vote for the 357 lever for availability of ammo.
 
Buy the Ruger PCC. I recommend the base model. It is a dependable carbine that seems to eat all types of cartridges. I'm on my 2nd having sold first and then bought a 2nf off of the EE. I got a smoking deal from one of our members. The gun is heavy but balances well and is very accurate with factory or with my reloads. Love the gun. As a general purpose carbine the gun does a lot of things well. I have other carbines that do one or two things better and are purpose bought but the Ruger can work in the same applications just not as well. For an all purpose 9mm carbine I think the Ruger is hard to beat...if you buy right ie used the ownership issue and Trudeaus use of gun store records becomes becomes even less useful.
I should add I have bought new from retailers to. I think the govt going after gun store records to trace owners to seize guns is a Liberal fantasy.

1) eventuality everything will be banned. If you want to buy something that guarantees you will be OK buy a slingshot (and even that who knows?)

2) I have a Ruger and JR. The Ruger in the magpul backpacker configuration is FANTASTIC! The link above is a pretty good deal.

It will never get easier or significantly cheaper to buy than right now!

Rather, they ask to be paid when some prediction of upheaval comes to pass, seemingly a kind of reward for having been right about a political change or collapse. These credit knife men are said, for centuries, to have a solid record of predicting such events.


A seemingly logical progression towards this level of control is underway here. How long before we are not permitted to purchase ammunition?
