You finding two barrels with identical machining problems, makes me wonder if they turned out thousands like that in some sort of production error.

they are over-rated, over-priced pieces of junk!
I have not seen ONE semi-auto 22 that is worth the money asked for.
i have the TC R55 all weather in stainless and it is a tackdriver right out of the box. as for rugers, the 10/22T/C Benchmark, the ultimate semi gopher gun. It's everything a ruger can be...right out of the box

I do have an open mind, so convince me: What can the 10/22 do that the other semi's cant do better? One rule: You are not allowed to answer with anything that requires buying parts.
I just took the Volquartzen *Hi-perf* trigger assembly out of my 10/22 and put the stock trigger stuff back in. My safety wouldn't work and I was still getting "fail to fire" issues.
I'm trying yet another brand of ammo and we'll see if it does better. Somehow I doubt it will. I do own
