hoping in the next little while to get a 44 mag revolver. what are your opinions on the ruger redhawk? i hear they are likely to last a lifetime no matter what you put in them.
I think you read the post wrong, is your gun not a Blackhawk?

Very happy with my 7.5" version, picked it up last year used and took a couple months working up my own handloads for it and it's handled them all without any problems whatsoever. Have even put a couple boxes of Buffalo Bore heavy +P+ rounds through it and while my hands took a beating, the revolver itself no issues. It's no beauty queen, has some rough edges/tool marks, but it's built like a tank with lockup/timing still spot on. Very simple to work on/disassemble too as an added bonus.
