Ruger Scouts IN STOCK!

Not a bench rifle but over the bench with quality hunting ammo and a good red dot ( Leupold Deltapoint 7.5 MOA), it will do 1.5 MOA all day long, those barrel heat fast and the POI could change, got some trigger time behind one and it is a very well balanced rifle with the red dot... I am mingling, may add one to my herd... JP.

I was able to do 1" at 100m with Hornady Match 168 gn and 1.5" with cheap Federal 150gn soft point using a 4x scope. Not just 1 group either. I shot 2 boxes of each one day at the range with the same results. Mine is a lefty too, the first left handed bolt I have ever owned. I had to relearn how to use a bolt gun because I always shot right handed bolts on the left.

Thanks for making these available to us. See if you can twist their arm for a few guide guns-I'll gladly send a deposit (375 Ruger pls)

Can anyone confirm that this will tolerate 7.62 NATO ammo? Being a bolt gun I don't see why not, but just wanted to ask.

Response from Ruger: 7.62x51 Nato can be fired in any and all M77"s and Hawkeyes, Scout Rifle and the American chambered for .308. Military surplus ammo can very greatly in its Quality and consistency.

Why no flash suppressor on the ones coming up here?

Model #6805 is a export model and does not have a spec sheet. Things were added and elimenated to increase production quantities. The U.S. State Dept has recently allowed the export of the standard Gunsite model shown on the website. This gun is not it.

Should be coming with one 10-round magazine in the box with the gun, but as these are the first we've seen in over a year and the first ones of 2014 we are not 100% sure on that yet.

Purchased one just last week--left handed version--from Frontier and it came with one ten round steel mag as well as scope rings and butt stock extenders.

Somebody mentioned it earlier but thought I would just add, the Ruger polymer mags work great...

I don't live in the arctic anymore & I don't know how they would hold up to -40 celsius... But if it's that cold, watch out for your trigger guard too. (I would love to see a metal replacement)

Do you guys stock the longer picatinny rail that goes over the receiver?

You were asking about the Ruger Gunsite Scout full length scope rail. I had to check Wantsalls' site before I posted this because I don't want to take any business from them. But I don't see it listed there so here goes;

It's from a company called XS Sight Systems.

I bought one from Brownell's just a few weeks ago, and yes - they will ship to Canada (but it will cost a bit more).

I think after shipping to Eastern Ontario, taxes, and the Cdn/US exchange rate it was like $120 Canadian.

Best of luck!

Here's what I have found with my Ruger and the metal vs Polymer mags.

Metal : They rattle in the magwell a LITTLE bit, cannot be loaded through the bolt (have to load rounds by sliding them in when the mag is out of the rifle), they get REALLY COLD when the temp drops below freezing - so the way I hold my rifle on the stock/mag when shooting I better have mits on. They run the rounds when cycling BEAUTIFULLY.

Polymer: Perfect fit in the magwell - no movement, fit snug, NICE. The polymers I can load right through the bolt by just pressing the rounds down - its a bit tight (they are no lee enfields for top loading - but they work). In the cold - NO problems at all - comfortable to hold, not cold at all, BEAUTIFUL. Rarely but occasionally when cycling the rounds - a round gets fussy and can hang - need a tiny bit more bolt push to make the round move right - may just be a 'work in over time' thing - is it a huge problem ?… not for me. I run the metal when its warm & the Polymer in the cold.

OH…. and th polymers are shorter than the metal mags (see pictures)

(for those who read the WHOLE thread…the metal 10 round mags will actually take 13 rounds, polymer only 10).

Mine came with scope rings/mounts
Just to be clear, from what I've read it comes with a ruger #5 and a ruger #4 ring, to mount a scope in the standard position. If you want to mount one forward on the rail, you need to get your own.

Clearance of the front objective above the picatinny rail using the shipped rings was reported to be 1.575inches (40mm). One post I read, the person was looking for more clearance, and he talked with Ruger. They said, "ship us the #4, swap #5 to the other end and we'll ship you a #6, which will get you more height". I might be wrong on the Ruger ring designations, but you get the idea.
