Have any of you guys sent the guy a pm? I think it's just a little cowardly to talk about the up behind his back.

High price or not it's his gun and he can ask what ever he wants for it. If you want it send him an offer... If the price is too rich for your blood move on.
 
People can ask what they want
People can pay what they want
People who don't want to do either don't have to

It Really is that simple, kudos to the SR1911 seller, good for you. Had I seen that ad, I would have gladly bought it. It is not always about money...In fact, our sport is rarely about money.

He clearly states "Not Negotiable"

That would make it sorta hard to deal with him.

Besides, he knows there's "one born evey minute".

I can see these Ruger .45's, being like the NP 29, soon they'll be plentyfull.

If you can wait, you'll get one at fair market value, if not, you'll "pay the piper".

Some come on this site to make friends, others to make money.;)

"Firm" wasn't exactly what he said. "That is not negotiable" leaves no room whatsoever!

However, you are right...that's his issue.
 
Some people need a reality check is all... as I said if it's a gun your after put in an offer. State your reasons and be clear about why you think it's worth what your offering. If he doesn't accept your offer, well, he can keep it.

I've currently got a high priced shotgun in the ee. I've gotten lots of questions regarding it but nobody has made an offer. It's like guys are scared the seller will get upset. The way I see if the price is high then it doesn't sell, that's my issue. If somebody throws you a "low ball" offer at least you know what one guy is willing to pay...
 
Supply and Demand is what it's all about. When S&W model 29's were scarce they sold for many times their list price....There may be folks on here who are happy to pay extra so as to be one of the first to own one of these pistols. I see absolutely nothing wrong with this fellow asking his price for that SR1911. If a person doesn't want to pay his price, they won't. What's the complicated concept at play here, I wonder? :rolleyes:

Nothing complicated about it, we're not children. We understand that you can ask for any amount and if I'm stupid enough pay, too bad. I think the REAL point is that it doesn't make it right/moral.

Lets take a more personal approach. A salesmen sells your parents (God willing they are still with us) a used car at triple its retail value. You come home for a visit and discover what happened. Would you say "Oh well, I guess he's allowed to sell that car for whatever price he can get, I'm not mad"? I don't think so...

It's easy to let other get abused or taken, not so easy when it's yourself or someone you know.
 
Taking advantage of someone who isn't as knowledgeable isn't their fault.....It's the seller's:(........My advise, check your moral compass and sell/trade fairly, you'll do more business and your karma will thank you.
Thieves always get caught..............eventually. Make no mistake about it, ripping people off is stealing from them.

Forgot to mention, I've yet to encounter a bad deal with CGN'ers. Buyers beware is always good advise though.

If the sellor does not lie to or mislead the buyer, then he is not ripping anyone off. It is the buyer's responsibility if he pays over fair market value. If you don't do the research or ask knowlegable people to help you, why is that the sellors fault?
Buy/sell is a life skill. Hopefully if you've got cash, you've also learned to manage it wisely.
There are "money is no object" people, and one of them might just want the new ruger.

Its fair enough for him to ask what ever he wants for that gun and if youre dumb (or desperate)enough to pay that price,so be it.

If youre seeing this advertised here,then it shouldnt be much of a problem to be able to look around and see what these rugers are selling for.

Either way,the window for asking high prices is probably small,as i seems(reading the US forums on this)that ruger has stepped up production quite a bit and the supply seems to be increasing,so those of us who have this gun backordered(myself included!)should hopefully get one in the next few months.
 
I purchased mine in Febuary and its worth the price of admission {$750}.
Complaining about the enterprizing individual's morals and ethics will not help the issue.
Ruger will fill in the production shortcomings [Cdn. market] when the demand slows down in the US.
So cough up the premium or wait patiently!
