Based on the 10-22, so should be legal here. Looks cheap, too.

I believe this is in the wrong section.

As it is a rimfire it belongs in that section. Mods please redirect.

It is already discussed there:

Comment / question:

Will the new Ruger SR 22 be available in Canada?

Response:
We are sorry to advise that: Because of the military-style features of this rifle (telescoping stock, flash suppressor, etc), the US State Dept. will not approve export licenses for commercial sales in Canada. They will consider export licenses for Law Enforcement, Police & Government Agencies only.

We know this is disappointing to all, but it is the current US policy on exports of firearms with these features.

So it seems it won't be coming to Canada anytime soon. However US export policies are in constant flux and we may see some later.

It is a Ruger 10/22 in a Nordic kit.

You can already get something cooler here :D (made in Canada)

Specter Arms S54

Comes with the top rail, shroud, stock body, and pistol grip, which you can use ANY AR15 grip or stock (A2 or telestock). Im using the Specter Arms "b" stock I think he calls it, nice and solid and simple.

Full length top rail to take Picatinny/weaver accessories, so you can use IRON sights on this thing!

Barrel shroud is optional to have the MP5 SD look, or go with the plain rifle barrel look.

I have done some custom work to mine, installed 2 picatinny rails on the handguard, and the Harris Bipod stud.

Where can you get the Specter? And is it restricted

Its a Ruger 10/22 stock kit, you can get it from www (dot) specterarms (dot) ca

Class is non restricted as long as its over 26 inches. (you can even get shorty barrels for them!, again, as long as its over 26" OAL)

If you google Specter Arms its the first page ;)

So first off you need a Ruger 10/22. Heavy barrel variants are preferable, but it can be used with a skinny barrel (just make sure you tell him that when you order it, if you have a skinny barrel version)

IIRC Its about 200 bucks for the kit, and you get the receiver shroud, the pistol grip, the handguard, barrel shroud and full length Aluminum picatinny rail on the top.

You can put any AR15 stock on it, and any iron sights. I think he also has stocks to sell (he did when I got mine) so give him an email and he'll get back to you.

If anyone has their heart set on a SR-22 they can just go the route of a 10/22 with Nordic Kit. That being said, I'm not sure how available the kits are though.

At least one Ruger distributor is talking to Ruger about a Canada only variant that would be allowed to be exported to Canada. Phil.
