Ruger SR1911

Same here, had hope Murdoc could ship my SR1911 along with G22 Gen4 but no he too is anxiously waiting.
 
Out of curiosity what's the big deal on amt of MIM?

Realistically shooters in this price range are casual user, MIM or forged the parts will outlast the shooter. Worst case just change the few parts that break. Let me know if I misunderstand the issues with MIM.
 
I find it funny that Ruger can't even supply North Americal with their first 1911 and they decide to design a second version of this imaginary pistol. Have a look, it's pretty sharp.

Maybe it's just me, but I have a Norc that I shoot the *ss off. If I'm going to spend more on what is, quite clearly a prettier gun, that is supposed to be a "serious" pistol, I want to know if it's the safety that's most likely to break, or the hammer strut, or if it's the entire 'trigger train', the safety, the link, the mainspring housing, ejector and extractor and firing pin. I don't see the problem in telling people what they are buying. Colt does it, and these guns are about $200 (20%) cheaper than a Colt.
 
Here are two replies from Ruger distributors that I received this morning after requesting information from them last night before I called it a night. Not looking too good for us waiting on lists. I'm switching to a different make. Might cost more but at least I can shoot the 2400 rounds that I have already made while I was anticipating its arrival. Good luck with yours.

Sorry, we do not have any confirmed dates on the SR1911 from Ruger. They are constructing a second and third production facility and are expecting 2 years to clear the backorders world-wide.
Delivery of yours depends on where on the backorder list your retailer is.

AND...

There have only been a few enter Canada to date. Ruger is heavily backlogged with orders (at least a years worth of production has been sold). Ruger has indicated to me that they are working on increasing production capacity due to the popularity of the product.

I really can’t tell you exactly when the next shipment will arrive until Ruger actually allocates product to our company, and even then there is no guarantee that your particular order with your retailer of choice world be filled from the next shipment that arrives in Canada.

I can tell you that I don’t expect our current backlog of orders for SR1911s to be filled for at least 12 months.

Yes, anyone who has one now could ask the sky for it & likely get it.

In a couple of years when Ruger's production has caught up to their vigorous year of marketing to create the demand for their new 1911 offering they will be readily avaible and everyone who wanted one will have one by then.

In the interim, fortunately, due to the 1911 having been around for 100 years now there are plenty of other 1911's around to buy/shoot.... :p

I'm not a big 1911 fan. Prefer HK's, Glocks and most of all 1911 improved (BHP)

Nothing wrong with the Ruger at all, just not my thing.
 
The MSRP was always $799 on there website. Not sure why everyone thinks the price went up. They made a limited number of Talo SR1911's
