ruger sr22 rifle

It all depends in what you are looking for in a rifle. It is a 10/22 in a tactical stock. So lots of after market parts available for it but only a 10 round mag as the 15 and 25 round mags are considered prohibited.I do own a SR22 and it is fun to shoot but it gets heavy for free hand shooting as it is all metal and no plastic like other tactical style .22LR rifles.

My SR was the first rifle I bought when I got my PAL and I still have it. Like the others here said, with the ban on the 25 round mags it's not as much fun to shoot now and spends its days in the safe. Still likely will never part with it as it has never let me down no matter what I've ran through it. You can't go wrong with any 10/22 version in my opinion.

Since the mag ban I've sold my 10/22's,not as fun anymore.
Bought a cheap 597 from Cabelas for 270.00 and a couple 30 rd mags(keep your receipt some don't work properly, just bring them back and get another.
You can put a aftermarket stock on it or try to find a 597 vtr

What mag ban? The re-interpretation of a bulletin is a new law? Drum mags don't fit chargers either. Glad I didn't have any bc mags to now stare at but has this been tested by anyone yet in court? Are the orgs doing ANYTHING

They were priced right when they came out, but now they go for 700$ or so, I don't think it's a good buy. For the same price you can get an actual AR. Or almost 2 "normal" 10-22.

If you want a tacticool 22 rifle and got an RPAL, check the S&W M&P 22. Usually retails for 450-550$, looks like and actual AR, only downside is it's restricted.

Sold my sr 22 and got a cz tactical 512, hated the max 10 round mag on the ruger. Other than that the sr 22 was fantastic. Also picked my 512 up for 629.99 so that was a great deal on Black Friday.

I like Mine. It is a money pit though.. Its like adult lego...make it look anyway you want.. Mine has an 8" Dlask barrel with a flaming pig flash can.. I gave it a shorter 7" handgaurd and a magpul fixed carbine stock with extended buttpad. Now its perfect lol.

I enjoy mine. I shot the Stittsville ORPS match with it today and finished 6th, including 19 hits in the mad minute bonus stage (off hand at a soda can size steel plate at 50 yards, 29 shots fired including 2 mag changes in 60s). I will admit it has some upgrades but I can average sub MOA 10 shot groups at 100 yards with the right ammo on a calm day.
