Ruger SR9 why so hard to find?

The OD model has been discontinued.

Too bad...that was the nicest looking one they had. I would buy an OD model any day over the black or silver one...they do still make them in silver, right?

Hard to say for sure but looks like it could be an older model with the round rather than D shaped mag release.

From what I've heard, when you install the Ghost trigger connector($25) and lighter springs($15), and then shoot a few 50 round boxes of ammo, the SR9 and 40 trigger becomes pretty decent! Add the price tag under $500 and you've got a winner. I'm getting one with the stainless slide and installing tritium night sights. Leaning towards the 9mm because of price and better availability of ammo, the .40 S&W selection seems to be limited here in the great white north!

I had one they're alright, but if you're paying more than $500 for it, might as well get a gently used Glock gen4 or M&P. I like them better.

New ones have the blade safety in the trigger (glock style safety). All of the old ones should have this new trigger safety as well since Ruger replaced them for any owners of the old ones - I suppose there may still be a few out there though.
