Ruger SR9

Just bought one last week. This has been one of the best fitting pistols that I have tried in my hands,. I tried S&W, Glock, Sig and these Rugers just felt perfect. I know different pistols fit others in other ways but so far I have zero complaints. Finish is excellent, no rough edges or tool marks. Nice bluing in the metal. My only complaint would be the slide is a bit hard to pull back but is getting easier with use. I paid $439 tax in to my door, very happy.

Im sure there are hundreds of pics on CGN of the SR9 but here is my blued version.

Cheers!!

When I was shopping the prices went from $439 to $529 and up in a week. I had a quote from Itailian Sports and the next day saw a $50 increase. At $569 with no holster, and only 2 mags I think the S&W M&P is the way to go if it fits you good.

Cheers!!

If your budget is $500, go ahead, but don't fool yourself thinking sr9 is on par with glock, m&p or xd cause its not.

X2 on this.....I'd say this is definitely a handle/strip down and inspect before you buy pistol. I bought one based on the decent reviews, and its really a cheap, poorly put together low budget pistol. Definitely not confidence inspiring once you take a good look at it.

I read your other post before I got mine and was a bit concerned but as long as it goes bang and hits paper I'm cool. If it had anymore use then simply a paper puncher and cool novelty I would look at something better.

Cheers!!

Yes I can say and say that this Ruger SR-9 is one of the most under rated handgun, it is reliable and inexpensive, the only draw back is you have to buy in person for any Ruger product because of the poor workmanship lately.

For some odd reason Ruger has always been able to get away with this. Their Mini 14's are terribly inaccurate yet are sold out everywhere and aren't cheap. The Ruger 10/22's are usually junk with modifying the entire gun yet they are almost sold out everywhere and aren't cheap. I dont get.

You are right, the bloody 10-22 was my first rifle and was a ####ing piece of ####, I just don't get where were those hype coming from.

I have a black SR9 I bought used. Quality is very nice, I don't have any issues with that. Maybe some people have got bad ones, or are just looking too hard and trying to say bad things about it. I really like the Pistol, for $450 (what I paid) you can't go wrong.

Yup got my own from epps $450. And the fit and finish is exalent thight fitting and shoots great the trigger smothed out after about 30 rounds. I put 100 rounds through it the first time I took it out and no issues. It eat every ammo with no FTE's, ftf's or anything.

Great gun I would put it up there with my glock's JMO

I'll fully agree with the last two posts. Great gun, especially for the money.

As for it not being in par with Glocks and Smiths, I agree. Its better. Especially for the money. No its not quite as good as a nice CZ, but its close. Put in an aftermarket trigger bar reset and tweak it a bit and its even closer.

You guys just got turfed from the Glock lover's club for heresy! My wife likes her SR9 so much, she bought another one.

The market will decide in the end. Ruger must have some faith in the SR platform to offer it in 9mm, .40 and .45 ACP. They're all in short supply. Love 'em or hate 'em, Ruger has taken a big bite out of the Tupperware gun market.

The Glocks and Walthers are well engineered, well made guns, and you pay for that. If you like their features and ergonomics, go for it.
