but when you start putting 7 or 8 chambers into a cylinder normally meant for 6, the thickness of steel in the chamber wall comes into question- also you have to re-engineer the timing and a whole lot of other stuff- even with a lower power cartridge as the 357- with a 6 shot, they just beefed up the mechanism- the redhawk was designed around the 44 mag, and the super was designed around the 454- even then, it has problems feeding with some casull loads- but you're STILL only at 6 shots-top , bottom, and 2 on each side
