Hey Rugerman,
I own three of them. each one has it's own "thing" about them, almost like a personality, but overall, i'm a real big fan. I only had to deal with them once so far in the last 10 years, and that was intentionally. I purchased a M77 Mark II 30.06 from a gun dealer that was going out of business, and it had a fractured stock near the magazine screw. For 60% off the retail price, i bought the rifle, and Ruger replaced the stock free of charge under the new gun warranty within two weeks.
My 10/22 is tempermental with regard to the type of bullets it likes (i understand this is commonplace with all .22's), and it took a few years of trial and error to figure this out, but a goergous gun to hunt with. No repairs that need the attention of Ruger.
The 22/45 as you seen in this thread, has an issue (sort of) with the release button, but once a guy undertands the gun, no problem. Remember hard to release with an empty clip, easy with a full one, but Carole just said that they would look after things if i brought it in. As a result of this string, i'm choosing to work it in a little first.
The other folks i speak to that own Rugers are pleased with the after sales service. I understand that they are exceptional in some cases.
I wouldn't loose any sleep over the Ruger aftersales support. I have no problems, and the people i know are happy.
There is a place in Edmonton, but he is more into sales and non-
authorized repair work if i understand that correctly. See the attachment.
I guess compared to the USA, Canada has reletivly fewer firearms, so they only need one Factory repair centre. They chose Montreal.
Sorry for the long story, i hope this helps. I always have a soft spot for a fellow Ruger man.
