Well, I for myself, prefer to pay X for a rifle that shoots well and is reliable, than paying much much more for matching numbers, or any particular history this particular gun has.... Unless of course if I could get THE historic gun, the one that killed hitler for exemple, or Whitefeather's rifle.

dont know how keen you boys are on springfield armory, but you can buy garands through them in 30-06 or the ever popular .308 .. but as far as price goes i cant say

i've seen them in cataloges.we,ve been spoiled with a large supply of danish released milsurps for fantastic pricing.i paid $100 back when they were plentifull,wish i.d bought at least another.i believe the new springfield garands are over the $2000 mark.

Mine didn't clean up so bad. It looked like crap wood but the finish was fairly good. The internals were practically mint.
