How many importers of the Russian sks have there been? Also, over what period of time and does anyone know how many?

Russians only. Importers, not retailers.

I know of one Dealer that went to the Ukraine and hand picked sks rifles and Nagants and had them shipped to Canada direct. I picked one off his website for a member on this site. his were no different then all the other non refurbed ones that I had seen other than the mags were welded and not pinned . please stop with what seems like a Witch Hunt that you seem to be on. Enough . I'm on several US Gun websites and I myself wouldn't even consider bothering to argue with others as you have been doing . If I disagreed with something someone said I might voice my opinion once and then let it go .

No idea what your talking about. I created a thread asking lagit questions regarding the Importation of Russian SKS into CA out of curiosity. One guy on one forum don't like the facts equates to Im not permitted to ask a question? Wow.... its like 'wow' only backwards.

To answer your question, lots, and over a long period of time... from both Russia, Ukraine, and elsewhere.

There were some early imports in the late 1990's but prices were quite high back then, around $400-600 for a Soviet SKS. (Chinese ones were cheap as dirt then.)

They trickled in very slowly in numbers you could count on your hands until about 2007 when a decently sized batch hit. Then again in 2008, but this time MUCH lower priced. 40-50% less than before.

Imports done by various importers. And since then more and more until roughly 2014/15 when numbers of imports started to fall significantly. The rifles they have overseas and rifles still here in the hands of some distributors are really scraping the bottom of the barrel, heavy refurbs.

The days of non-refurbs are more or less over, and prices will certainly rise to above their former pre-mass import ones.

It was a simple question pcv, please read the first reply and ask yourself who came here poking that stick. I understand some of you will defend your CA brothers no matter what, but this anti American rhetoric isn't helping. Please set your egos aside and have a civil conversation relevant to the OP. This forum already has a reputation of one of the most intolerant and unwelcoming anywhere on the net. You can either be part of the problem, or part of the solution. Choice is yours.

Let me attempt this one last time.

I understand your laws do not require an import stamp. That being said, I would think some of you guys would have a general idea of how many importers of the Russian sks there have been, and possibly how many may have been imported?

Except when trolling, then lying is acceptable.

Any serious members have any insight on the matter?

I'm aware of 5 distributors who wholesaled them at one point or another in the last decade or so. No idea if they were primary importers or only some of them were.

Edit: there well might have been more. I never filed an Access to Information Act request for this.
