"Tequila for my friend it makes her flirty...." Any one else listen to Pink???
So yeah, I haven't been out with my SKS lately..... Shot some trap, bought a 12 ga.... Thinking of selling my Norinco and dropping my Russkie in my Tapco and saving the original stock. Yup, taht is my whole excitingness of my life.... Hmmm, need more beer...

You know, the 7.62x39 cartridge is called type 43 (year 1943) and it was experimented on the frontline in various prototype semiautos, including the SKS; but I doubt very much that any of those protos ended up here in a crate...

It would be an awesome deal if they made them in 1945. As far as I can find and what Curtton has posted, they started to manufacture them in 1949.
My bet is, the lady took the SKS45 as the 45 being the date it was manufactured.

I hope you enjoy your new rifles, it has been a long wait for all of you. I still think the one I ordered from MovingTarget will be here before SIR/Cabellas delivers.

DO NOT FORGET TO POST PICTURES FOR ALL OF US TO DROOL OVER!!!

Here is a quote that a very informative source sent me:

"there is no such thing as a 1945 made sks , none were made in that year .

A small production in 1943, it was not adopted, so no model name. There is only one model and that is SKS45."

That's amazing. But I will belive it when they are posted. lol, Gary is getting some very soon too. He also has crates of ammo for $229. I am thinking of getting another one... I am so chronic.

I think that you'r going to become a believer Valashnikov. I got a call today from SIR/Cabelas and my long awaited Russian SKS is coming. From what was described to me, it is an original 1945 unisued Tula arsenal model. It comes with the goodies:sling, cleaning kit, oil bottle, and pouch. I got my refurb from Frontier this week along with a Tokarev pistol. I can't wait to get a chance to go to the range! I am not too sure about shooting the '45 nut what else is it for? Oh well everyone should be faced with my delima.

They are now 214+
Not such a good deal with taxes and shipping.

I'm puzzled as to how you arrived at that conclusion. An original unissued Russian SKS for $214 (really $199) is still one of the better deals you'll ever run across.

BTW, I have been collecting SKS' for years and I'm quite familiar with their price. This latest influx of Russian SKS' will probably change the market somewhat but don't count on it for too long.

My 2 cents,

Duke1

PS. I realize that I was quoted a price of $169 when I ordered from SIR over a year ago but at that price, I never expected an original and unissued Russian SKS. A $30 increase for what I'm getting is still one of the better deals I'll ever make.
