Russian SKS45 long thread.

Ordered one 5 minutes ago and they said "no problem" with delivery. They are getting lots of them. I cancelled my order from Frontier.I feel I got a better chance of getting a nice SKS with SIR.I'm garanteed ,The bottom of the barrel ,with a Shooters grade, from Frontier.

I just talked to the nice lady who runs mail-order at S.I.R.

She confirmed my order, but said I was about number 213. There has been such a flood; they are still sorting the on-line orders from the weekend.

They are getting in two shipments of 200 rifles each (grand total of 400.) The first shipment is already spoken for, but there is still a lot of space left on the second order.

Hurry! Hurry! Hurry!

imho, i dont think its 2 shipments but rather one large shipment and all the dealers gets theirs from that one shipment , each dealer maybe commited to a min and option for more so SIR got a min of 200 and an option for another 200.

so if more people cancel with frontier then they will not excercise their option for more than the min they are commited to (i think 100) so therefore leaving more to SIR to increase their option.

spoke to them at 4:40pm (ET) and she said they;re on backorder and no guarantees i get one, ETA early april. my order was placed on saturday. my .002, i was hoping for a more definite answer, but we'll see what happens.

I just called as well.. guess I'm in the same boat.

they emailed and said the adress didnt match : adress that PAL is registered with and adress of place of birth ( Russia ), they asked why they're different ( for shipping purposes ), i told them that if i still lived there i wouldnt have to order through them in Canada and could just get one in a convenience store if i wanted to. they soon realized they shoul've looked before emailing me with such a obvious question. i hope whoever takes care of rifles is more qualified than that.

That makes sense, I didn't expect there to be two containers coming in from Russia on separate ships.

I just received an e-mail from the head of mail order at S.I.R.

She spoke with their supplier today and they are being advised that they won’t see the SKS’s arrive at their store before the middle of April. Since I mentioned this forum (and the ongoing feeding frenzy) when we talked earlier today, she asked me to pass this information along.

I advise anyone interested in picking up one (or more) of these SKS’s; to get in your order by phone or online as quickly as possible. Then just sit back and be patient.

They will arrive in due time.

Cheers!

i knew it was gonna be in april instead of march bcos if you read my other thread , i said that frontier shipment is delayed till first or second week of april meaning frontier and SIR shipment is on the same container.

like picking up beer at the corner store in the US, lol.

dont be so hard on them, staff are overwhelm .

After making an order online, should one confirm by phone? or is the order good as gold?

i always place my order by phone and always asked for a invoice number .

some other members decided to call today after placing the order online, just incase the email got lost.

I did today (after placing the order online this weekend.)

I did it to ensure there was no screw-up and that they still had some left.

I would advise anyone ordering online to follow up with a phone call as soon as possible to make sure there are still rifles available.

These ones are going very fast!

Good luck!

P.S. Even if you don't get one right away, there is likely to be a small percentage that will cancel their orders before (or when) they arrive.

Keep your name on the list just in case.

I placed an order online and e-mailed them. They were kind enough to phone me to confirm the order and let me know the estimated arrival date. I have to wait til April to get it and I might be in europe. Is anyone on backorder for these and waiting until april?

We are ALL on backorder, they haven't even arrived yet.

They have to clear Customs first, then go to the distributor who will dole them out to the waiting retailers, who will then fill our orders (after confirming that we are still interested.)

The rest will be up to Canada Post (for those who can't pick theirs up in person.)

Maybe you can try asking S.I.R. to hold a rifle for you until you get back from Europe, if you aren't going to be here when they arrive.

I just have to say that I've called to confirm, they've got me down for one. It's silly, but I haven't been this excited about a firearm purchase for a very long time. I'm between #225 to 230.

Payment for sks

When you order online or over the phone do they charge your credit card now or when they ship it to you?

I jumped on this as well. I was waiting for the Frontier shipment to come in, but at this price I couldn't wait.

A great big THANKS to Curtton for giving us the heads up.

Now I just hope the ammo boys can keep us in x39 ammo. Time to stock up or else I just bought a pretty wall hanger.
