Russian SKS45 long thread.

i asked the nice lady that took my order and she said the SKS are coming from russia.

fellas, for $166 , you are getting a piece of SKS history, one hasnt been made for over 50 years, russian SKS are most desired by collectors in the US, the value could only rise from here .... in the US you would be hard press to find one less than $200 in very good condition, they usually sell for over $300.

Will these have the import stamps on them??

SIR will be getting a shipment of russian SKS (qty 250) and they are taking orders, i ordered 2 this morning at $165.99 each. they are from russian in very good condition.

i just cant believe how cheap these are . now what am i going to do with my order i place with frontier?

This site is BAD, very BAD!! I just orderred one. I am 159 on the list. :dancingbanana:

The wife is going to kill me!!

Any idea if these would be chrome lined barrels?

from 1949 to mid 1951 it was non-chrome but then most russian SKS were refurbished so the non-chromed may have been replaced. so i would say chances are its chromed lined.

what kind of a import stamp? like the US? if so then AFAIK (i may be wrong) ... no , canada does not require that type of a stamp but it may still have US import stamp if it was destine for the US but got stuck before the US ban. i got a russian SKS with US import stamp but no canadian stamp.

I have heard that all firearms imported (maybe just surplus) are being stamped. A fellow Nut received a M91/30 from SIR just a couple of weeks ago and it was stamped. I think this came into affect Dec. 2007.

Shortly all guns coming into Canada will bear a stamp, just like the ones going into the US. It's a new law coming into force.

i guess that the last marstar shipment of M14s must have came in nov 07 cos the M14s i received from them had no canadian import stamp but an old US import stamp. CJA SFLD MICH .

X2! Damnit! ....couldn't resist in buying one

Well, just for the record... (call me stupid if you want), I placed my order with Frontier Taxidermy a few weeks ago, and I've received impeccable communication from Marlin. I'm keeping my order with him, since I'm a "homme de principe". (Man of principle? Not sure how to translate that one).

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with my experience with SIR (bought a mosin from them).

No, the UN import marking regs were put off by the Gov 'til '09, IIRC. The import marked MN's that SIR had came via the US, hence the import markings that were required for entry into the US>
