A Russian SKS goes for about $350.00 USD in the USA if you can even find one. I bought mine for a $130.00 USD but that was 18 yrs ago and purchased in the states.

The lack of affordable AK type actions is a huge PITA for Canadians. The gun laws don't make sense. AK's looked scary so every AK action is banned? Those Saiga's don't even have scary baby killing pistol grips!

Placed an order for a SKS with Cabela/S.I.R. on the phone today. I must have received HOFF, s place in line!

Was told by one of the managers that they are expecting around 1200 within the next two months. They have 800 back-orders as of today’s date.

SIR does accept deposits if you make the purchase in-store. I paid for mine in full on March 3rd in the store, have my reciept and everything. Also waiting for them to finally show up.

Thats BS I don't care what their store policy is on paying for a rifle before it is even in the store, but no matter what it is, it should be abolished after waiting nearly 7months.

Order and forget gentlemen....
The sucky part is, I might even be forced to cancel now. Not sure if spending over a grand on 2 SKSs and a couple crates of 7.62x39 is prudent for me at present.
I might end up having to buy a bunch of other crap that has nothing to do with Communist Bloc goodness.
