The value of the canadian dollar is currently sliding down the sh*ter. Because they are bought with american dollars we Canadians will have to pay more.

I have been waiting for the 1000th post for about 3 months. I cant believe you could not write anything better forthe 1000th post. I'm disapointed.

I phoned SIR & they said they would still be the same price as when they were ordered, Now this lady had trouble speaking english & who knows if she new what she was talking about, but she said it!!!

it will depend on when SIR pay . if they were to pay in dec , the US$ could significantly weaken by then .

Really from a customer service standpoint they should honour the original price, however I dont consider a price increase to be "stickin it to us". The company I work for sells fire trucks and are actually going into debt on some of the deals due to the dollar dropping. The dollar is too unstable, I wouldnt blame them for not wanting to give away a rifle. Im not saying I wouldnt cancel my order, but I wouldnt hold hard feelings toward that comapny. It's just business.

200 rifles @ $38 more due to exchange rate = $7600 loss.
I will be delighted if they are the same price, but if not, I don't expect any business to lose a #### load of money for me.

The rifles are not paid for in USD by the dealers, they are paid in USD by the importer who have now paid USD, purchased with weak Canadian dollars.

Well I guess I see it differently yet the same... if a dealer sells hundreds of rifles they don't yet possess based on a certain price being advertised I think it is most certainly sticking it to us at least a little if they increase the price when/if they actually ship them out. Otherwise don't pre-sell items your company doesn't actually have with no idea of if/when you might actually have them.

Of course sh*t does happen. Hopefully not to all of us hopeful SKS owners.

I guess mine won't be here by September... hmmm... what's the latest SIR delivery estimate?

its all about timing , if importer paid 30 days ago , it would be with strong canadian $ , if they pay now then it with weak C$ and if in dec , well , who know ? but i bet the C$ gonna get strong again .

cant expect the US$ to stay up after a rapid rise and an impending printing of $700B dollars to bail out their financial insititutions .

If I order something at X price, then when it shows up I get charged Y price that'd be a bit wrong no? (Regardless of where I order it?)

Either way, here's hoping they show up soon, at the prices quoted, in good shape... yadda yadda yadda.

Fine I will let the cat out of the bag, every dealer who had ordered rifles got a notice that the price will be up 20%, its not a mabey, if and or but. The wholesale cost will be up 20%. Dealers can sell for what ever they want but I am telling you now, to expect a price increase. My retail prices will be staying the same unless we get a bigger cost hit.
