Russian SKS45 long thread.

I think Frontier deserves some credit for bringing in this shipment (I won't get any, I am way down on the list). At least they are moving things. I understand where 1bigrn is coming from, but calling it “bad business” because the price is different is unfair. Are we saying that they should have refused this shipment because they wouldn't be able to retail it at the previously offered prices?

I am registered with both Frontier and S.I.R. (1 each). Frankly, I have been wondering about the practicality of their pricing ($229 and 165) as I have been following SKS deals on GUNBROKER for a few months now. The going price for a Rooski in good to very good is U$300-400. Maybe that is why these shipments are not coming through i.e. no supplier is willing to sell them at below market price! If that is the case I would like to know now!

Told you so....!! :D

Fine I will let the cat out of the bag, every dealer who had ordered rifles got a notice that the price will be up 20%, its not a mabey, if and or but. The wholesale cost will be up 20%. Dealers can sell for what ever they want but I am telling you now, to expect a price increase. My retail prices will be staying the same unless we get a bigger cost hit.

Funny how the dollar takes a nose dive and all of a sudden the rifles are almost here . BUT WAIT the dollar is on the rise again today biggest increase in one day ! I'm sure that will make no difference right? Lets just get these things in & shipped to the customers that still want them & close this thread.
It's nice Frontier is sticking with there original price I think SIR will also .
But I think dealers should not advertise a product unless they are sure of the availability of that product .

IMO I think people who pre-order should undertsand how it works and the risks involved before doing so, and complaining about it.

Also it makes no difference if the dollar goes up if they allready payed. Im fairly certain the supplier they purchased from isnt going to offer them a refund because the dollar went up.

anyway back to the important stuff..the ones leaving alberta..are they the small shipment or what? :p

did frontier ship out there small shipment of sks yet? cause there is still no charge on my credit card yet, what happen to the shipping out at mid oct??

I've gotten into the habit of waking up every morning and saying to myself "maybe they'll ship tomorrow :)"

If the rifles ever actually get shipped, I'm not sure if my mind will be able to cope... I've become used to waiting for it, rather than getting it :p

After reading this thread for the past few months and never commenting, a question comes to mind.

With hundreds if not thousands of rifles coming in to the country, why is it that a handfull of people on this thread think that they can call the shots about how things will be done, what prices the guns should be. Lets face it, you are a drop in the bucket in the big picture.

I remember when I worked in sale at a appliance store and everyone it seemed knew the buisness (or thought they did) better then we did and thought they could impress me with how they knew the name of my wholesaler, and their adress. When someone says "I just cancled my SKS order" or says "If the price goes up I will cancel it!!!" Do you realy you matter?

Its like the Simpsons Episode ware Homer told Moe that he was not coming back to his bar and that he had lost a customer, but Moe could not hear him because he had 50 customers lined up for service.

People don't care if it matters whether they cancel their order or not dude. They are merely saying they had a price-point expectation when they submited their order and if it goes up they are bowing out. Pretty simple really.

Market Economy
Economic system where the allocation of resources are based on the free play of supply and demand, competition, and ultimate customer choice.

Customers bring a bag of oranges back to Safeway because one is bad. Customers lie and say they didn't change anything on their computer when it's broken. Customers harass salespeople and don't buy anything. Customers make a gross disgusting mess of a business' washroom. Customers come in and ask for "the best price"...
At the end of the day you put up with it to some extent because THE CUSTOMER IS YOUR BUSINESS...

Well I guess it is on now, for those of you who have piled on the dealer who warned you the price was about to go up on guns take a look at SIRs website. Ruger Mini 14 Target up over $200.00, and ruger 10-22 is up $60.00, still holding out hope for dirt cheep SKS rifles?
