Russian SKS45 long thread.

Ah..

Apparently... these Nork M14s we've been getting weren't originally meant for the civilian market, they were originally meant to be shipped to the Philippines for some war. The M14s that have been coming in were just stock that never got shipped off to war... and apparently they're out of em now. Interesting.

Nope.. not Marlin's fault. But my opinion... I'd only put something up for sale when I'm positively sure I can acquire it.

Yeah, true... but who can really tell when the CFO will get their period and therefore changes the unwritten import rules in his/her province. I don't blame the guy at the store, but rather our clever governments who keep barking up the wrong tree, just because it makes them look like they are solving a problem... but which problem?

We now live in the dark ages of Kanukistani freedom, lol. So hold on to your butt everyone... because the ride might get even bumpier soon.

crazy, they wernt sold out when I posted that link :) (no I didnt buy the last one)

as for the SKS, It'd be nice to know whos got dibs on the rest, if there are as many as claimed

I was one of the first ever to place an order -- for a handselect grade might I add... I hope I don't lose my chance to have it! :(

Going back to the original shipment... I was wondering if it just a matter of time, or if it's possible that it'll never be in our hands. I ask this because I want to buy some 7.62x39 ammo but I don't want to be stuck with a crate but no rifle.

I ordered some from Frontier but it's not to ship until my rifle dose, to avoid such an incident. Give them a call and see if they have any more left, and if they can do the same set up.

Talked to Leo in Savage harbour today and he said they're still with customs. But he did say the expected price he was going to have to pay dropped.

I called Leo a couple of nights ago. He doesn't know when to expect the shipment- problem with the magazines not being pinned (yet). He quoted me $250 (still). He does plan to get crates of ammo in as well.

Looks like Frontier has even given up updating on there web site . Still says Inspect on Nov 25 .ship the next week . Haven't herd from them in this thread lately .
YA I KNOW IT"S NOT THERE FAULT , so don't even go there.
Someone has a lot of money tied up in lot of rifles they can't sell .

Don't say that. Contact Marlin. He told me a couple of weeks ago that they are still having problems but believes they will get here.

I placed an order for 2 a couple of days ago (at Frontier) and it was added to the orders list, as I received an email confirmation (from Mr. Marlin).

Had they given up on the SKS issue, I think that the order would've been simply refused with a "Sorry" message, but it was not the case. Everyone here needs to understand that everything in this beautiful post-Liberal country takes time, especially when it comes to firearms imports. However, once these rifles ARE pinned to 5 rounds capacity and are no diffrent from the non-restricted Norincos we have plenty of in this country, the CFO will have no legal reason to refuse them.

So... Relax, have a beer and watch some TV or something. Let the importers do their job. The only diffrence YOU can make is to vote CPC at the next election and hopefully prevent this from happening again, because whining won't change anything. :D

And the saga continues... The only question is, is there still hope?

Unless they are banned there will always be SKS rifles in the EE & at gun shows . But this shipment of old Russian rifles has taken on a life of it's own . I think when they are finally approved & shipped they should come with a numbered letter of provenance. Not documenting there military history , But the history of how they came to Canada . Will increase there collector value 10 fold !
LOL

Yea, the price I got of below $200 was before the Canadian dollar went down the crapper. Already got my crate of ammo :shotgun:
