Russian SVD style reticle

No, it wasn't supposed to be for 762 x 39. The 762 x 39 scope reticle only ranges up to 400m.

I suppose in the rush to sell stuff, some dealers may come up with ways to use scopes designed for 762 x 54 rounds for the 762 x 39 !
Sort of correct.
The ranging icon for the x39 round is only up to 400 meters is true. Although the chevron's are only for 100, 200 & 300 meters as shown below;

Contact TeaPot2 for any POSP scope questions as he retails them.

Now as for the reticale that you are using. That one is designed for the x54R round and yes the range finder start's at 200 meters and works out to 1km for a man sized target. Also the chevron's are only for 200, 400, 600, 800 & 1KM BDC for that round. This 1's do not line up with the x39 round at all.

If you look closely you will recognize that there is a difference in the original posters picture of a reticle and the one by JNA. The one JNA posted has the height at 1.7 meters, whereas the one maliqua posted has it going up to 1.5 meters.

The reason for this is that the 1.7 reticle is the from the original SVD's pso1 scope.

There was another experimental scope for the SVD in existence. When you adjust the magnification power by the size of the target. Mechanically and automatically the scope would change to the necessary elevation. This was only on the 7H1 Ammo (7.62x54r) version.

Here is a good explanation of the pso1 reticle. Original website is in Russian.

The thing I have difficulty with is the apparent 5 mil (based on the horizontal markers) gap between the first and second chevrons, when it should be about 3.
If the top chevron is 200m, I could believe 200, 300, 400.
