I have some 7.62x54 russian tracer and was wondering if anyone could tell me what its worth. I don't have a rifle chambered for this and was thinking of getting rid of it. Thanks.
One $ for 1 tracer ? wow , I wish ... It is not real price . $0.50 round - yes
If interesting I can give you a contact
They were selling 7.62x39 tracer at the last gunshow for 25$ a box of 20
"...don't have a rifle chambered for this..." Few, if any, ranges will let you shoot trace anyway.
"...assuming he shoots at a range..." Can't shoot it at all with no rifle.
Was it selling at that price? That stuff is a lot more common than 7.62x54R tracer.
Incorrect. It was pulled because the Explosives Act/Regulations only permits "safety cartridges" to be imported, sold, and possessed, and tracer ammo contains a pyrotechnic element which falls outside the definition of a safety cartridge. By this default, all tracer ammunition is not legal.Try finding it by the case. The 7.62x39 tracer that was being sold in vancouver got pulled because it is a fire hazard to trees in canada.
I don't see why anyone would want tracers. They're useless unless you're shooting full auto.
- Most MG belts are 4B1T (unless the fire index in the template prohibits tracer that day...).
- But: tracer is used for other things, including target indication:
"Watch my tracer!!"
