S&B PMII 12-50x56 Who has one?

Oh damn, thought it was on Sunday. I won't have a bolt for my rifle until Friday, and I rather not go without tons of practice before hand or a drop chart or a sling. Well I guess I know what I should work on before a match.

The best way to practice for this type of shoot is to do it, come out it will be fun. im sure someone will lend you a sling to shoot. Unless we are shooting same time you can borrow my cuff sling. A bit of para cord will make it attach to anything.

Pm me your rifles MV and bullet make and weight and sight height over bore, I'll make you a drop chart.

When i shoot up my private land 600 metres + sometimes i have to reduce magnification du to mirages, some days when it's warm and humid, i cant go higher than 30X ( 12X50 PMll), but among all my high mag scopes, it's the best , i seldom is stuck with mirages with my PMll 5X25... JP.

Well this was disappointing, for the thread title! I just bought a 5-25x56mm p4l reticle milrad turrrts! And a spuhr mount! Fastest 5k ive ever spent. I couldn't wait for 4-6 months for a 12-50 to come...

I don't think you'll be disappointed at all with your scope package, but there are 12-50s available right now to buy. Or do the ones Wolverine has, not have the right features or reticle that you were looking for?
I am also thinking, although no dealer has said this to me, that when the 2-3 12-50 scopes that are left in Canada are gone, the next ones may take a while to show up, and will be a good step up in price, with the state of our dollar etc.

If you look at a few of the big American sites, like EuroOptic, they list the 12-50 at 3479$ in US dollars. with a 35% exchange, that makes that scope around 4500$ cdn. That makes the scopes for sale here right now in Canada a really good deal by comparison! (Lol, if you feel a 3000$ plus scope is a good deal...).

An update, after today's match I've been one hundred percent convinced that I made the correct choice going with the 5-25. Realized more isn't always better, for example when you cant see your lane's marker and shoot the wrong target after operating the bolt.

Have been contemplating the S&B 12-50 for a while myself. I own both 3-20 and 5-25 S&B scopes and optical clarity is near perfection. They're at the top of all the scopes I tried. How does the 12-50 compare with the 5-25 for clarity and resolution? Does it really offer the same level of optical quality? Thx.

While I don't have a 5-25 S&B to compare to my existing 12-50, one of the dealers I talked to said he could tell no difference in the glass at similar mag ranges. And for all the different scopes I own, ( Vortex Razor 2, Nightforce Atacr and Competition scopes), the S&B is definitely a bit more clear and detailed then those. I really do feel that the differences in the two S&B is going to be very small, if any, and should not be a big part of your decision making process.

No difference in clarity between the S&B 5X25 and the S&B 12X50, only difference are the 5X25 as illumination and the 12X50 as a shorter eye relief, those are both stellar PMll hyper quality scopes... JP.

I agree completely with Caramel, it does have shorter eye relief then my lower mag scopes, but have had my 12-50 on my .338/.308 Barrett, and on my 6.5 Creedmoor AI, and never found the eye relief an issue. I have almost never used the illumination on any of my scopes either, for my type of shooting I don't need it, so that's a non-issue for me, although some guys love it. There is definitely an added cost for illumination though, and is it worth the up charge on a feature you never use? That's a personal decision you can only make for yourself.

I cannot wait for tomorrow to arrive, the schmidt and bender has touched down in Richmond this afternoon. I should have it tomorrow if it gets transferred by the evening delivery (Signature required, won't be home), but even if I get it tomorrow I won't have my spuhr mount (or any 34mm rings) til Tuesday (damn long weekend!), unless of course they transfer it on Friday evening to Canada Post (happened with a signature req'd package, same day 7pm ready for pickup). If they do I'll have one HAPPY thanksgiving long weekend sighting in my new scope!

No kidding Dude, that's awesome!!! My 12-50 is enroute as well, with a NEAR mount.

We should meet in the middle for a comparison testing session!!! We are setting up a 1 mile range this weekend here....

I found mine used on CDN gun trader. Wolverine has MOA models in stock.

Keep an eye out, they do pop up.ive only been on CGN for 6 weeks or so and I've seen 2 50x, and 3-4 25x.

Hey guys, who did you get your scope from?

Wolverine seems to be the only stocking dealer of Schmidt and Bender in Canada. I tried two local dealers, one of them actually told me they do not have best prices due to not being a 'full' stocking dealer. I thanked him for his honesty and went to the only stocking dealer.

Ok, I thought for a moment there was another stocking dealer. I bought my two S&B scopes last year at Wolverine. It appears that Wolverine have not renewed their S&B inventory for a while. A friend of mine ordered a PM II 5-25x56 three months ago from them with delivery sometime in November I believe. I hope they have ordered a few more to put on their web site.

I doubt they have stock. But good news! Someone was home and my scope is waiting for me! Now hopefully someone is home tomorrow morning, if not Ill have a weekend full of reloading and pistol shooting.. That will be the first time I would be waiting for long weekend to end already!
