I haven't experienced any problems yet either with my two 590A1s silver/gray plastic followers.
I do have the 870 no jam followers in two of my 870's as a preventative measure though.
The facts are, as much as I love 870,s and i have worked on 1000,s of them. you will have less issues with a Mil spec Mossberg then you will a new 870, the follower, spring, exstractor and the finish on most 870,s are just sub par since the 1990,s .
Todays Mossy 590, is a much better made gun.
That said the 870 is a much more simple gun.
You are likely to have less issue with the spring and follower in a 590 then in an 870, that said the 500,s and maverick are really bad.
As its been said for a $12 part it is well worth buying.
we have sold so many of these, its almost become a standard thing people say, you will see on forums around the world, when people talk aftermarket followers they use the term " no jam follower" which is our trade mark.
we have had our followers used in over 80 different countries from Iceland to south Africa
I know its hard to take advice from someone that it trying to sell something, but it is a very good product and the cost is quite cheap.
