I've had an 8 3/8" S&W for about six years now. Hot loads, light loads, cast bullets and jacketed, they all shoot GREAT!! I'd post a photo but with the recent

'difficulties' experienced with photobucket, I'm unable to do so at this point in time. Perhaps when I make other photo posting arrangements. I have access to a wide variety of cast bullets I get from a friend locally. Those, with the jacketed available on the market, again, all shoot great. Lighter loads in roughly 900 - 1100 f/sec range are a pleasure for plinking or any amount of sustained 'paper punching'. However,

once you start pushing them out in the 1300 - 1700 f/sec range, you soon find out the calibre and handgun model in question, has the ability to inflict PAIN,
at BOTH ends!! The Hogue type rubber grips it came with don't help. I had a set of Jordan Trooper stocks by Herritt's for an N-frame S&W that I adapted to fit my 500 and that made for a significant improvement in dealing with the recoil of hot loads with heavy bullets. Again,

no ability to post photos on site at this time but if you're interested, PM me your e-mail address and I'll send you a photo that way.
