Whats the info on the barrel thingy, Tarn?

Why can s&w make good mags for a .22 but everyone else can olny make those gahy bannana style ones ?

If you look at the picture you will see how the spring is closer to the right side on the bottom and slowly travels left as it goes up. The S&W mags are banana shaped but they are not as pronounced when hidden inside a full sized AR mag. Most larger capacity 22LR mags are curved to help feeding of the rimmed cartridge.

Were can you buy accessories for 15/22 waiting on mine love to add bling:)

hmmm...actually, i wasn't going to buy accessories yet, i was shopping for shooting/tactical gloves (i don't like powder on my hands after a shoot).

tactical gloves are pretty pricey in the vancouver area, so i opted for shooting gloves. found a few pairs online, and their store was in town. its not a arms store, but a local paintball supply store. i ended up with a pair of sniper gloves for about $20.

they sold ncstar scopes, picatinny rails, accessories, red dot sights, etc. they had some paintball guns that looked a lot like ARs' and AKs'

so i got a sniper scope for around $80 (didnt want to spend too much on a scope) and a folding forehand grip for $15. went back and got a picatinny riser for the scope for $15.

i'm awaiting arrival and putting all this stuff on when it gets here.:)

I got mine a few days ago and went out shooting yesterday. Put 250 rounds of Blazer .22 through it with only one jam. Pretty accurate, I got 4 inch groups at 100 yards standing up and using the sights in came with.

I love this new toy. Highly recommend it to anyone who wants to have fun and shoot cheap.

My wife shot about 200 round with hers last week using plated Winchester bullets. Gun functioned perfectly. This week using lead bullets there was no joy. Several FTF, gun went fully auto twice for two shots. Packed it up and will give it a really good cleaning and try again but not likely going to use anything but plated bullets.

The Blazer .22 are leadheads. Didn't have any issues with it all. Going to try some different ammo in the next day or so to see how that works.

So far I've put through around 400 Federal Champion and 50 CCI standard. Only problem so far is it failed to hold open on the last shot 3 times.

Was the .22 ammo 36 grn or 40 grn? I know in my old .22 AR conversion they liked 40 grn better so the bolt would have full travel on the blowback.

25 rounds.

24 actually. A lot of these .22s have 24 round mags now so they are the same OAL as 30-round AR-15 mags. Why this is a big deal I have no idea.

Anyway I bought one from P&D at the weekend when I was up there, but of course the CFO was closed so I am awaiting delivery now.

Has anyone tried dropping the upper onto a standard AR-15 lower? I actually already have an AccuracySpeaks .22 upper which is awesome but it's too much hard work (tight chamber, mech has to be tuned, bit of a bugger to clean) for a casual range outing so I bought one of these.

The problem I can see already with these things is that the lower is made from plastic so it will be hard to use match triggers as you usually have to screw them down into the lower somehow.

It does however have the advantage than I can buy ammo for it at Canadian Tire as they have Federal HV, which is good stuff.

Why are they restricted ?? The real reason is it oal ? You can't put a real are upper on it so why ? I really want one but am really pissed that it's restricted! Any chance in it changing ?

Well the AP-74 is restricted and NONE of the parts are interchangeable, ditto for the Umarex imitations as well.

With the S&W some of the parts are interchangeable (I think you can put the upper on an AR-15 lower, not sure, I'm waiting for the mail).

It's all about looks and what they say in their brochure. Although I do think that this is a variant of a variant, i.e. the S&W M&P-15 is a variant of an AR-15 and this thing is a variant of that. Variants of variants aren't prohibited but it's not as glaring with this rifle as with the SIG-Sauer 522 as there is some degree of parts commonality.

For 70% of us that are within 60 miles from the U.S. border:

Buy one, get your BATF form, get your CFO conveyance, go to the U.S., shoot it there on someone's property (with permission of course) or county land.

For the other 30%, do it anyways. :)
