S&W M&P 15 Sport II or Norinco CQA

As the original poster of this thread, I appreciate all of the replies submitted. Last year I decided to build my AR and have been collecting parts when they go on sale or when I have the money. However today I broke down and purchased a Norc CQ. I was seriously leaning towards the S&W but a got a good deal on the Norinco. That's what decided it for me. I am still continuing with my build because I can buy the premium parts that I want and have a custom AR. Plus it's fun to build your own., The only thing is that I could have spent the Norc money on my AR build. However no regrets. Anyway you can never have enough guns; after a while it becomes addictive. I might have to go into rehab.

I just read through all 13 pages of this. It was interesting.

I am in the same boat OP was. I bought an M&P 15 that should arrive on Monday. I'm also planning out a custom build though. Today, I ordered furniture for my custom build but will probably enjoy it on my M&P for a while first. Best of both worlds I guess.

I know Aero's are popular for uppers and lowers. Is that due to quality/price? What would be the next step up? I'm pretty ignorant on the individual components but trying to get caught up. I'm looking for a medium to high quality build.

I got the Aero Upper and Lower, mainly because of the price and the fact that they are mil-spec. The fit and finish are excellent. What I got was the special edition lower, which was kinda neat as it was marked Property of US and the selector lettering had Safe, Fire and Burst markings. I am looking to buy an Aero Precision Ni-Boron BCG next. Still haven't decided on a barrel though , but I do know that I want a .223 Wylde. The Norc should be coming sometime this month, hopefully before they ban them. That was the other reason I decided on the custom build and bought the lower first. I got a little worried last October.
