It sounds good, even looks good on paper but it's an ugly, ugly thing in person. Not as bad as firing the 640 in 357 mag (which is absolutely the worst recoil I've experienced - and I've shot Desert Eagles 50 and a 308 cal hunting pistol), but closer than most people want to get. (depending on the grips you're using, you can expect to bruise your hand)I wouldn't give it a steady diet, but occasional use should be just fine. - dan
+1 on a steel frame gun.
+P on an airweight J frame S&W is a big no-no.
