S&W Model 25 The 1955 Model .45 Target Heavy Barrel

JohnnyMac, I want those diamond coke grips for my five screw Pre-mod 27!! The originals got lost along the way, and still looking for a set of diamonds (happily settle for Magnas even...have a line on a pair, just waiting for pics)....anyway, they look great on that pre 55!

Thanks! I found them on the Smith and Wesson forum and managed to swing a trade to avoid the hit on the US currency exchange (although they did cost me 2 pairs of RB combat stocks). When I picked them up I figured I'd have them for show only but the difference in feel is worth actually using them. I'd love to see you're pre-27.

So that's a mouthful but according to the owners manual that's what it is.;) It arrived from Wanstalls in today's mail. :d

A couple of scratches on the case but all tools and original paperwork are there (papers indicate purchased March/77). The serial number dates the manufacture to 1975-76 according to my SCSW. The gun doesn't seem to have a mark on it and there is no sign of it ever having been fired after it left the factory.

So, now the question is....do I shoot it?

sailer723....beautiful 25 and nice score. Congrats and Shoot it lots!
I love shooting 45ACP thru my 625.

Nice Model 1955 I too have .45 target from 1956 in the S160### serial range. Its my most accurate gun . Used to use moon clips can be a pain but I use .45 auto-rim brass. Load them just like .45 acp. you cant go wrong. Moon clips are getting harder to find.

Enjoy

I figured since I got picture posting privileges now, i'd practice here with some pics of my Model of 1988 625-2 that I recently acquired. It was a bit...crusty when I got it, but an hour in the ultrasonic tank with heat and varsol, and an hour with Hoppes #9 and lots of scrubbing, it looks like new. I'm happy with it!
