Handled both. S&W quality was obviously better but for a first time AR the Norc with a $529 price point.....I couldn't pass up. Also, a quick disassemble and LIGHT dremel polish on the trigger.....stiff and gritty problem solved.
For any argument about the forward assist or cover port......never noticed or used 'em on the norc if you are looking for a reason to lean toward the S&W.
I found the trigger on the norcs to be very stiff and gritty compared to my GTO C15, which is a budget AR. One consideration is that you can't take the Norc south of the border. If you ever plan on doing any shooting down there, buy non-Chinese.
