So I recently bought a SW22 Victory which I am totally satisfied with except for the takedown screw. I knew it had a reputation of coming loose during firing, so I stupidly snugged it down so tight with a ratchet wrench that I eventually stripped the screw head.
I've had no luck finding a replacement screw. I tried the one and only Service Centre for Smith in Canada, Gretch Outdoors, and they don't have the required paperwork to import gun parts for the Victory! The international service centre in the states also could not send me the part. Ditto for Brownells and a half dozen site sponsors that I contacted. Apparently Murray Charlton has closed down. If I'd known that parts and service for the Victory are unobtainable in Canada, I probably wouldn't have bought the gun.
So what happens if you need spare parts and warranty work done on your Victory? Am I missing something here? Does anyone have any suggestions? The part number of the screw is 440440000.
