Traded for this Sako 85 in the winter, just got the McMillan EDGE for it today. Much better fit and feel than the factory stock...So far, looks like it wants a belly full of H4350 with 100gr BT's. Also have some 130gr AB's to try...

Me likey! :D

I like those Sako's

MMMMMMMMMMMMM. ;) Nice looking rifle.

Just got word my old L61R 3 Lug is all re-blued & just about ready to go. Here is what it looked like before I sent it.

Rear tang has had some more body work done since this photo & the stock has been re-painted. Long tang Fiberclass needed to be filled to accept the short tang L61R action.

Barrel was just cold blued also.

Wookie, how many Sako's do you have? Going to take a while to build my collection...:D

One of these days, I'm going to snag a L579 and build a .338 Federal on it...

So is that your "precious" or are you gonna treat it like it was built for?

Drive it! No closet queens here, 'cept maybe the Citori, but I'd hunt it too if that's all I had...:p

blargon;
Thanks for putting up the photos I really like the businesslike look it has.

As a by the way, our eldest has been using 130gr TSX in her 6.5x55 for the last few seasons and we've yet to find one inside a deer. They are definitely doing what they are supposed to though judging by the damage.

Good luck on your upcoming hunts with it and thanks again.

Regards,
Dwayne

Now that I've got a mate for my Finnlight, maybe they'll start breeding in the cabinet...:D

If they start breeding, let me know and I might need to borrow one to mate with my 85.

How do you like the .260? I'm thinking about rebarrling my ruger #1 from 257wby to a .260 rem.

How do you like the .260?

Haven't played with it a whole lot, but I'm liking it so far. Thinking I'll use 100gr BT's for a plinking/varmint load, and maybe 130AB or 100 TTSX for bigger game...I've been putting it off waiting for this stock to show...

Went out and made some noise today. Ran some 100gr BT's over the chrony, average with 49gr H4350 was 3130fps. Also tried some with 49.5gr and the average was 3160fps. This is from my 22.5" barrel...

Forgot my targets on the board, but all groups were under 1". Did take this pic of my new 12" gong. The 3 shots in the bottom right were mine at 300 yds. I like this rig... :D

Try the 125 gr Partition over about 45 grains of H4350...awesome deer load.
