I haven't seen any evidence that Sako is phasing out the 85 at this time. Nor have I found a single reference to Sako models "90" and "100." Sako rifles still appear on dealers' shelves, and Stoeger Canada has indicated that they are receiving all the 85s they order. A couple of factors are at work here: (a) Sako's biggest sporting-rifle product these days is the lower-priced Tikka line, so that we'll see more Tikkas than Sakos, and (b) Sako has a new large military contract for the M23 that will undoubtedly be very profitable for the company. These developments, along with promoting the S20 line, have occupied Sako's attention and have meant fewer 85s in the pipeline. Of course, at some point, the 85 will be phased out, just as the L- and A-series Sakos and the 75s were, but I haven't seen any evidence that that point is now, although it's possible I've just missed it.
As for the ejection problems, I can only say that I haven't experienced these with my 85 in .270 Win. It ejects fine, and I have a low-mounted scope.
If there is some information about Sako "90" and "100" models, I'd be very interested in seeing it.
