I'm looking to get into reloading in the next few months. I want to reload for .308 and I read that Sako has the best brass around (i'm open to reccomendations since i'm new to this...). Unfortunately I can't find them anywhere.... does anywhere know where i buy them?

I’m not sure anyone sells sako brass. You can buy ammo and shot it for the brass. Lapua and Alpha (among others) make excellent brass as well.
 
Sako brass is not available in Canada. Stoeger Canada (the Canadian Sako distributor) doesn't bring it in. However, loaded Sako ammunition is available, and you could start with that and reload the fired cases. Or, I suppose, you could pull the bullets from loaded Sako ammunition, dump the powder and start from that if you absolutely had to have Sako brass, although that plan is pretty extreme to say the least, and I don't think I'd recommend it.

What information have you seen that suggests that "Sako has the best brass around"? Given its relative scarcity, I doubt that enough handloaders have gone with Sako brass to establish its superiority. I don't doubt that it is good brass, but there are other brands out there that might suffice for you and would be readily available as unfired cases. My own experience has been that Norma brass is very good, as is Lapua, and now there are some newer brands available--like Peterson brass--to compete with the old standards.
 
It depends on why you are reloading. If it is for precision rifle shooting out to long ranges then go for quality brass. If it is for under 200M hunting, use whatever you can get your hands on.
 
I have been exclusively using Sako and Norma bras in my Browning BAR 30-06. Both are excellent. The Sako brass has a harder neck. I have annealed the brass after 4 firings. The cases seem to hold quite well.
 
Do you have shooting friends in Finland? My dad found Sako 9.3x62 brass in the recycling bin at his gun club there and picked it up for me :). Now he moved back to Canada due to a job offer too good to refuse. And crazy taxes over there, even on a pensioner's income....
 
OP, if you REALLY have your mind set on Sako brass I can try arrange some for you. I checked a Finnish buy&sell website and there's some fired brass available at about 20 to 30 euro-cents apiece. I still have family members over there who should be able to forward it.

But I'm sure Lapua brass is "good enough" (LOL) and readily available in Canada.
 
100% do Lapua. Easily some of best component brass made anywhere in the world.

It won't last forever, when/if you need to replace it or buy more, it'll be easy to sources as it's available from multiple suppliers in Canada.
 
I'm not familiar with Sako brass but isn't there a good chance that they are contracting Norma or Lapua to make it with the Sako name on it? Maybe some research would reveal the actual manufacturer.

I think that's how it works for the Browning ammo made by Winchester.
 
Good deal on Sako ammo with a $10 rebate on every box. It’s worth buying the loaded ammo, getting the rebates and viola. Lots of site sponsors carry Sako ammo. I’ve shot some of the 223 and 308 ammo. Very consistent factory rounds.
 
Lapua is the gold standard.
Norma is a solid 2nd.
After that the gap is pretty close, I've been using Peterson and it's decent, but I've also used (sorted and prepped) PRVI, Winchester 308 (blue bag, current stuff is crap), resized PRVI 7mm-08, 1F IVI, and really they all shot great and the PRVI lasted a really long time, I only wore out a few IVI in the M14, in a bolt gun they may last forever, but have the lowest case capacity.
You buy 50 Lapua cases, they are all good, same with Norma, and you will get twice as many warm reloads out of them compared to the other stuff.
The rest you might get 30-40 within a consistent weight range and some brass for foulers, and they never last nearly as long.
I've also got some SIG and Kinetic 6.5CM brass but haven't put it through the ringer yet, they both make 308 as well, it looks promising so far but time will tell.
