I own both. My first "new" big game rifle was bought 10 years a go - Sako model 75SS 300WM. The fit, finish (no pun intended) feel. No other rifle interested had my interests. Awesome shooter. My hunting buddy was going to get a Browning SS 300WM but was convinced to go with the same rifle as mine, and when I come back from the city and handed his rifle to him-he was in love and still loves it today.
I thought I was a 1-rifle guy -WRONG. In 2004 I waited the extra year for the Tikka T3 in the laminate stainless 270WSM and the Sako Greywolf wasnt released yet. I do not care for the Tikka synthetic stock compared to the Sako. The 270WSM was something different and something my fiance (at the time) could shoot good. Later that fall I picked up another for me as she took over the first. Both are excellent shooters with 140gr Accubonds.
As to say now, I have 4 Sako m75 SS rifles, 2 Sako m75 Greywolfs and 2 Tikka T3's in the laminate. I love my Sakos but for the money you cant beat a Tikka. And as Blargon said, P & D Enterprises has a Sako m75SS 270SM for a great price....I even called on it yesterday morning and contemplating it as I prefer the Grey synthetic stock over the black one. But for the price its a great buy.
