A bunch of years back, I hunted in the Coderre area. Pretty much gave up on it for the number of idiots pushing bush with their vehicles.
The deer were pretty attuned to the situation. They pretty much wouldn't get up and move unless thay were just about stepped on.
Nothing as WTF as watching some a**hole chasing a deer across a quarter with a camper-van, with a 'hunter' standing on the running board of the drivers side, while they do 40-50 kmh after the deer.
I quit hunting there. Too much opportunity for really bad stuff to happen.
Loved it when the snow started to pile up and drift. It kept the idiots from getting too far from the roads. Usually, a couple hills back from the road, there were lots of deer. Bit of a bag drive dragging, but I had deer, and the truck hunters didn't.
Crappy deal for the guy shot. I figure the shooter should be charged. Beyond stupid.
Cheers
