Saskatchewan

Takes awhile...🤣

The Bow River is a river in Alberta, Canada. It begins within the Canadian Rocky Mountains and winds through the Alberta foothills onto the prairies, where it meets the Oldman River, the two then forming the South Saskatchewan River. These waters ultimately flow through the Nelson River into Hudson Bay.
After calgary dumps their raw sewage in it.
Used to camp on the NW branch of the old man just down from the falls and on white creek, although dutch had the best fishing.

Quit once they upgraded the trunk road, understand it's paved now. :(

I think the fellow up the road that had I believe 400 ft deep told m they went down a good 700 ft but it did not get any better.
I think the pipe was 6 inch, I helped change the electric pump one time with a front end loader, next time it jammed in the hole and had to drill a new hole. Not a cheap operation. He had a few watering bowls for the cows, horses , gardens and in the house also with softeners, and filters
Cost way more them my 3 ton truck and water tank ( used)
Summertime I used the Tandem and 2 tanks 3000 gallons good for a month or so.
Missed this. 700 feet!! and ! I had some trouble with my 300 foot deep well. Had a couple of friends help pull the pump. Three of us pulling and one walking the line up the yard. That was a heavy pull. A few inches at a time in the beginning. First I thought we were fd.But it started slowly coming up. 300 feet of water weights a lot. Eventually had to get the well drilled another 100 feet to 400 feet. 700 feet is deep!!

there are very good wells in this area a few miles away, but that spot was not one of them, I never bothered drilling a well, and at Dad's we where close to s. sk river , so water was hauled from there , later , very good wells where installed at Kyle, and other areas by the RM's for farm use, no need for filters, but a bit hard.
this/ was a flowing spring in the river hills just south of us, but not easy to get at. Don't know if its still running,
BTW good rain last night , this morning, and I just see some small hail just fell, , snow coming maybe, = Spring in Sask. 🤣

We had a downpour and hail the other day. I like winter. Love fall with snow in the air. Its exciting. And then I love spring. Then summer then cant wait for winter lol. Lived on Van Isl for a few years. Rain and no rain. Missed the 4 seasons moved to the Kootenays. Lived in a few areas in this great country. The Pas, Red Rock, Niagara, Montreal ( Love the Laurentions), Lake Cow, Creston. Traveled a lot. Lived in Sweden and the Philippines. Looking forward to the next place:)

You have a spring?!! Here in EC it's winter, a couple nice days then it's summer, and ticks with a capital T maybe a day later.

I definitely don't miss the chinook's of ab, but I do miss the month long spring. (march in se ab, so still hard winter and a few ft of snow here, lol)
We have 1st spring, 2nd spring, false spring, 2nd winter, true spring and we’re working on getting magnetic spring recognized officially. I don’t trust spring until the leaves are on the trees: and even then………

Frost on the roof in the morning. 20c in the afternoon. Dog found a skunk last night. Hope there are no skunks in Saskatchewan lol

Go live in the north my friend much better everything. fishing, open season for moose deer, bear, elk the south is flat dusty and boring
Moose season is gonna get closed because of treaty ā€œhuntersā€ murdering everything in the bush and working there way into the farmland. Still lots of elk, deer population is like a 20 year? Low I’d bet.

To each their own! I'd personally hate living in the south with all the wind and lack of forest.

Great hunting and fishing in the area! However, the crime in the area (especially Nipawin) has dramatically increased since 2020. We moved away in 2020, and while we miss our friends, I don't think we could move back now.
Yeah don’t move up here. You won’t get permission hunting unless you own land and you’ll need a big deep boat for any water worth being on
