Sacrilege !
Can someone PM me the 3D printer guy info, as I need a 10 round .223 magazine body for a Savage 10.There is a fella who cut the bottom of a magazine and glued the two together.
There is also a 3d printing company in Canada who can 3d print you magazines. I dont think they sell on cgn so you will need to google it.
I purchased a .223 magazine and modified the retention lips.
Small shank barrels should interchange. Bolt heads are easy to swap. The 7.62X39 head is a odd size. If they were to be available I have a couple of old Savages that could put to use for surplus ammo.
I wonder if the barrel, complete with sights and rail can be fitted, to a better Savage with an accustock and better mag assembly?

i ####caned the muzzel brake. i wanted to be able to use it without muffs. dont need a brake for this caliber this is my first and most likely last savage
If you are going to base an entire company on one rifle, the Axis probably isn't a good choice for Savage.
I had issues with my Axis and CCI primers. I switched to federal which are known to be soft compared to other brands, and my issues went away. Obviously this doesn't solve your problem with milsurp ammo, but it shows that light strikes isn't unheard of in an axis. I bet if you look up reviews on the 7.62x39 versions that light strikes on milsurp ammo is common, in fact I'm pretty sure I've seen talk of there being a heavier spring available from Wolff or something like that to fix that very problem.
It was suggested to me that maybe my firing pin is too blunt. Switching primers solved my issues though so I never got around to messing with the firing pin.
