Savage 10TR le/military

Yea, that annoys me. Now that it's gone public, selling it at near-new price is almost not worth it, but I'd like it gone so that I can get one without the bottom release to fit a proper stock or chassis.

near new price...........as in the price you paid for it? or the price people assumed it was worth? 2 different prices and obviously a couple people did okay on the EE and a couple are going to have buyers remorse now...........just the way the cookie crumbles.

No. I'm not that type of person. What I meant was that I shot 10 rounds through it and it hasn't been out since. I wouldn't expect to make a profit. Breaking even would be nice (of course, I would absorb the cost of shipping), but if everyone now gets to pay the same price, then they're better off buying new. I don't have buyer's remorse. I like it. I'm just annoyed about the bolt release.

Here is my Savage 10P. Practically identical to the 10TR except: No threaded barrel (didn't want or need a muzzle brake for a .308), it's a 20" barrel which I prefer since this will not only be a bench gun (and from what I read the accuracy difference gained by the extra 4" barrel is minimal if at all) and no Accustock (I'm planning on upgrading the stock anyways). I'm not a 'precision shooter' but what are the best factory loads you have used in your 10TR's? Bullet weight? And I'm waiting for a DEC 10 round mag but in the meantime does any one know where I can get some factory 4 rounders? Believe me, I've looked. Thanks.

The Savage 10P cost more than the 10TR right?

I ordered a bushnell elite 3-9-40 and medium prw rings from Frontier for my 10-TR as I will be hunting with it this year. (next year it will be med. long range target) question is, the guy at frontier said I needed the medium rings for the scope to clear the rail, has anyone out there had experience with a similar scope as I would have liked a low set of rings, I do not have a cheek riser yet so would like the scope as low as possible! thanks Bob

It kinda takes away from the "special deal" now that anyone can buy it.

It kinda is fair for us lowly people to be able to buy one now

Frontier has them for $599.95 with a $15 flat shipping rate now. It looks like the price might have been adjusted on 07OCT2014. Frontier has stated that 180 rifles have been allocated to all of Canada

SFRC still has them listed at $639.95 and has stated 150 rifles were made available to dealers to sell to everyone.

Not sure what's up with the discrepancy in availability, but Frontier had them listed in their forum for $649 apparently, but now showing $599

word got back to savage that people were buying them and then flipping them for profit...................just a guess...........lol

Actually, I don’t think that’s the case. Savage pulled the rifles from the US market because retailers were selling them to everyone, regardless of LE/MIL status. Canada got the leftovers, which numbered 1,500 IIRC. The fact that this rifle was indeed discontinued for sale in the US can still be seen on many American forums.

The promo went on for the better part of a year here in Canada, and the retailers were pretty strict about who they sold the rifle to, and it seemed that they did sell out of all of them for a while. I’m not sure where this extra 150-180 rifles came from, but when Frontier and SFRC state that they are limited, I’m willing to bet that they are. Who knows if Savage will develop a new rifle with similar specs and similar price points, but for $599-649, either way you look at it, it’s a pretty smoking deal for what you get.

They indeed pop up on EE and occasionally some sellers had quite a markup, but the majority of folks just wanted to recover their shipping, taxes (works out to about $700) and time (time spent ordering, picking up at the post office, taking pictures, posting, responding to PMs and e-mails, packing the rifle up again, taking it to the post office, shipping it etc). The guys that were asking $1,100 for it, well, hey, if someone is willing to pay, power to them. The guys asking for $700ish, I don’t have a problem with that at all as they weren’t exactly profiting from it.

If Cadex Field OT is one of them, great. I don't think that's the case though.
google search showed that it will fit in cadex chassis. however for the bolt release you have to use a long object to actuate it, ie allen key/pen. They have shown demonstration of it through photo on their facebook page.

I have a quick question if someone could please answer.
Shopping a 20moa rail, does any rail that says savage Short action compatible with the 10TR?
Thanks

Shipping tomorow, and almost most dealers are sold out, most dealers got only 15 or so to sell! So glad i got one :) Its a real bargin considering your getting an incredible rifle with threadded barrel, accu stock, accu trigger, tactical handle and its smooth as butter with factory rails. 0.5moa right out of the box with a 2lbs trigger :)
