Savage 10TR le/military

Anyone reloading using CamPro 147gr with CFE223? Currently loading at 49g, Winchester LRP, trim at 2.005" and COL of 2.74".

I'm shooting at 50 and 100 m.

Linear comp on .308?

Does what it claims. I feel like it increased the rifle's tendency to twist/torque in my hands, might just be my impression.

Linear comps are for light recoiling firearms like the AR. Pushes the recoil straight back instead of pushing barrel down. Have one on my 10.5 inch AR. A linear comp won't do anything for you on a .308 except make your shoulder more sore....you need a muzzle brake. Just my 2 cents...or as I call it the Canadian dollar!

Mine is also an S&J

A linear compensator seems like an ideal muzzle device for hunting. It also works well for this 20" barreled rifle in lieu of the standard thread protector.

By projecting the shockwave forward, it's less Decibels to my ears. I don't wear ear protection in the woods so won't generally use muzzle brakes.

I take whatever type of bullit I'm using, and just barely seat it. I then chamber that, pushing the bullit into the case. That gives me my max OAL, for that bullit.

I use a Dremel, and cut slots in one of my brass, so when I push the barely-seated cartridge into the chamber, there isn't as much resistance, but that gets my my OAL for that projectile. I have the same "kit" for each calibre.

Hey guys, I just bought an MDT LSS chassis and am wondering if there is any demand for the accu-stock and what I should ask for it?

Thanks.
I've seen them between $50 and $180 on the EE. Find one that just sold and pm the seller asking politely what he got is a solid way of price checking.

Hi guys, bumping thread
Just purchased a 24" 10TR from SFRC
I could temporarily scope it to verify defects, as i want to wait vortex viper pst gen 2 to hit stores for final setup

So do i leave it unshot for 2-3 months until i get scope and atrs 20moa rail, or do i scope it asap to run 60-80 rounds and determine if its defective or not, to replace shortly after purchase?

What would i look for? From what i see barrels shooting too high and receivers drilled and tapped crooked for rails?
Anything else i would of missed?

As far as I remember early models had most issues. I think someone here narrowed down serial numbers for those batches or letters in those serial numbers. I bought mine and it sat in the safe for like 6 months before I shot it, luckily I had no issues.

Mine was a newer model and still had issues, it was purchased about 4 months ago. I think it's just poor QA/QC from the factory and not limited to early batches

Friend will be lending me a scope for a day at the range with him
What am i looking for exactly? 100yards good enough to detect barrel defect?
From my experience, start at 25 yards, with a large target, just use duct tape crossed on a large piece of cardboard etc. ( this is just to get you on paper without wasting ammo) you will soon see if the barrel is bad! I missed at 100 and 50 yards, out by 3 feet at 100 some fellas were even worse! So at 25 you should still get on target! Center your scope and see how much you are out, I could not get centered even with the scope dialled all the way to the stop! It would be normal to have to adjust a bit of course, at 25 yards I was 9" out if memory serves me right! You will know within 3-5 shots if it is bad! Good luck!

100 yard target is fine to evaluate the gun. However, your load may not be ideal for the gun. If you get a really good target first try, then all is good. If you don't get a great target, it might be the gun or might be the load...

Exactly
I will buy 40 rounds of federal premium factory loaded with SMKs, and not even expect it to be MOA
I understand how much fine tuning reloads will play a role in the MOA
But if i cant even get a zero at 100M because im out of elevation, i will know something's up

Edit : I just sure hope SFRC wont give me any problems changing it if it's the case
