Savage 10TR le/military

Yes that is correct, pretty happy with the results, this was my 3rd time out with this rifle and 2nd batch of reloads of 308
168 hornady BTHP with 42gr 4064, pretty good results with Varget as well last time out.
Again i am a total noob reloading lol!

Would anyone be able to share their location or GPS coordinates for a good spot to shoot not too far from Langley? I was thinking Jones Lake but I heard the road is washed out. I want to try some long distance stuff with the .308 and .338 but Mission only goes to 300 though I heard it may now be 500. I will pick up after myself and only shoot paper and steel.

Or you could PM me or email me instead. dave.jones@shaw.ca

Dave:)

Also curious about this. I know theres merrit amd heard places in squamish. Just looking for something a littlr closer to langley area

I must say i'm both impressed and have a hard time believing an el cheapo rifle like this can perform this way.
Don't get me wrong i'm excited to have ordered one, it almost sounds like too good a deal

You can believe it. Mine is a great shooter. It isn't as refined as my TRG 42, the Savage action is a little rough compared to the TRG, and I find the TRG easier to shoot. The Savage is also a whole lot cheaper too !!!! At the range the other day I shot a group that was a little over 1/2 MOA it was 6 shots fired pretty rapidly for me, I fired all of them in 20 seconds or less. That's not bad for a guy who is new to precision shooting and a new reloader. As I said so far for me my best group was a little over 1/4 "

I had purchased a 10TR way back when they first got out.
I had a few life bad lucks and sold it before scoping it as it was the wise thing to do at the time.
Now this new 10TR seems a little different, as in the savage logos changed, looks a bit better finished if my memory is good, rail screw holes are clean and aligned in the receiver.
Also comes with a 10 round mag now.
Now to test fired it asap to check if it doesnt shoot for the moon

They come with 10 round mags now??? Guess I should buy another one, lol!

the rifle was around 730$/shipped, all included. Considering these mags can easily sell for 100$+ on the EE, i consider having had a really good deal.

Looks good! But is that receiver glossy or just oily?

Hard to tell. Definately not a shinny blue, but the parkerizing seems a bit deeper.
My ex-one, had more of a grayish parkerising. This one looks darker, but to be honest, it's also one of the oiliest firearms i have ever received.
It was literally drenching.

In a week or two, ATRS muzzle brake, 20 MOA steel rail, and medium 30mm rings will be ordered.
Then the waiting game for my pre-ordered vortex PST gen ll 5-25x50 FFP to get here.

I'll start shooting it and spending time on the range before looking into MDT chassis.
As for bullets, i can locally get hornady match BTHP bullets, and have plenty of varget here.
Still debating if i am going to buy/try 178gr or 195gr

Mine came with a 5 rd mag. Only one trip to the range so far. During sight in, accuracy was just kinda "meh". I took the mag out and shot (hand loading). Accuracy improved to one thumbnail size group at 100 yrds.

New savage logo or old savage logo?
I had purchased last in stock, i might have been just lucky that they used original mag for a factory replacement and had to give me a mag with it and wound up with the 10 roundwr
