Savage 110 Ba or Rem 700 Police in .338 lapua?

Had a look at one of the Savages last week.
First thing I would do is remove that ridiculous rail system. Either put it on the mill and reduce it to a scope base, or install a scope base and sell the rail to a mirror kommando.
Apart from that, the rifle is pretty interesting. Handles better than it looks.

On that, if you are going to spend the money on the rifle you may as well keep the rails on for later addidtions:D

NV being one of them!

In light of recent events this statement becomes very suspect. Happy I own the Savage 110BA and also happy I don't own a single Remington 700 action.

Gents, I'm sorry, but I don't care what they look like on paper, i care about their results. I'll add some bias... I am a hopelessly addicted (and just plain hopeless) F-Class shooter (300-1000 yds). If you excluded custom actions from the list, the overwhelming #1 coice for an action in a precision rifle is Remington. They are damned strong, they are incredibly safe, and they work.

There has been the objection made that Reminton actions are not designed for the lapua case. True....BUT, do you seriously think that a US (read: Litegenous-paranoid) retailer would market a product that would pose even a modicum of risk to the lowest common denominator?

If you believe those statements then I just lost any respect for you I may have had.......

Funny how all of the rifles in the report that were misfiring were all full out custom rigs..... with tweaked triggers......

There has never been a documented case of this problem occuring with a factory 'un-fooled around with' trigger........

NV, Red Dot on the side, iPod with ballistic software, bubble level, ............
