I recently got this rifle and decided to post some pics here.
It dates 1915 from the serial number but the Savage guys tell me the barrel markings are circa 1926-1927.
So I am going to get the serial number researched to find out whether it was returned to the factory and rebarreled or maybe the receiver wasn't assembled into a rifle until the 1920's.
The finish is a perfect match on both halves of the takedown so it is a bit of a mystery.
Regardless it is a lovely gun, light and well balanced and the bore is perfect.
