Savage Axis, safety switch.

Its a damn wonder they dont break right off within the first 10 flicks....

I noted that when my friend purchased one....

but as ya see, not many ppl have issues with them

Personally, I see no reason to worry about it anyway as I find a safety superfluous anyway. Only time I have a round in the chamber is when I'm ready to shoot. If I don't take the shot, I open up the bolt again.

I didn't exactly mean flimsy as they do seem somewhat sufficient, they just seem to be really cheap feeling. I guess maybe I'm just used to my old 110. I haven't bought a rifle since the early 90's, do they build any like they used to? In the say $600.00 rage? My toss up is between the Axis, the 111, Stevens and the Ruger American. I know the Stevens has the same action as my 110, so I'm leaning in that direction.
