I asked that same question earlier this year, when thinking of a .223 for target shooting. I received more positive feedback than negative on that model, so I did purchase one.
My thoughts on the rifle are more to the positive, but there are a few things that make it a little less than perfect for me.
The scope that came with it was replaced first thing, of course, but that's kind of secondary and a matter of preference.
On occasion it won't pick up the next round. You have to make sure the magazine is in properly.
I find the trigger to be kind of a "surprise, I bet you didn't think I would fire yet, did you?" I don't know how else to describe it, but it could be better.
My best group with it is .625 at 100 yards. It averages slightly more, and all my groups are 5 shot. The ammo used is a load I worked up to, that consists of 53 grain Hornaday Match bullets, and 19 grains of H4198 with CCI primers in Federal cases.
Over all, I like the rifle and I like the .223 for the "fun factor" in shooting. That's my $.02 worth.
