Savage day at the range.

A Clarke big in Canada, not familiar with it. Do you have 22-250. It can do 4000 fps. I guess you know. There prairie dogs and ground squirrels. The real test. Not bragging there just a a few farm where to shoot them, private property. Now I’m really full of questions about Canada.

Yes. I've been playing around with 88 gr Hornady bullets, already have a good load with 80 gr. I need to find some 90 gr bullets as well, in 22. Should make a great LR coyote rifle. - dan
if 55 gr are good to over 400 and 69 gr good to over 600, how far are you shooting?
I have some 77's I should sell

So what FPS you shooting ? What bullet ? What barrel lenght ? I’m interested 👍😀RJ
Right now I'm running 190 gr Sierra BTHP's out of the Savage at just over 2700 fps. Cases are holding up well. No pressure signs at all yet, I can likely push it a little faster, but I'm more interested in an accurate then a fast load. Both would be great, but we'll see. Barrel length is 26 inches. - dan

I have a 224 Clarke, 22-243 Middlestead, 22-250 AI, and a regular 22-250 (as well as numerous small case centerfire 22's from 22 Hornet to the 222 Rem Mag). Have used them all on ground squirrels (what we call gophers), badgers, coyotes, wolves, crows etc. They all work, they just give you a little more range than the smaller cases. I dont use them on deer, illegal here (in Alberta). - dan
