SAVAGE Firearms are garbage

I've been told (by RFC admin) that RFC was established to 'help deal with Rugger 10/22 issues'. Thankfully it has expanded, likely since many find the ruger a low-end 'cope' compared to other rifles.
Their current popularity seems to be from the "Bolt-on" parts for 'Builders' - if you can call part swaps a 'build'.
 
I have had great luck with all 7 savage rifles I have owned. All have been exceptionally accurate.

The 3 of them still I still have, I have ZERO plans of replacing. My Axis ii Stainless .223 is in a Boyd’s stock and is my most accurate rifle averaging and honest 3/4” groups at 100meters with Hornady match.

I also think the Rascal is the best true youth rifle offered. And I also have a CZ 457 Scout. The scouts undoubtably a nicer rifle but it’s bigger and much heavier than the rascal and 5x the price.

Not in my experience; I bought a model 64, I was going to use it for small bore two gun that we were planning at our club. Ran flawlessly on the 10 shot mag included. Bought a second, ran great also. Bought a 20; 5or six out of 20 would feed and eject, the rest, jam after jam, after jam. I contacted their warranty center, crickets; contacted the us one, they gave me a direct number for Canada, called repetatively, no answer and no returned calls.

I posted about it here, a fellow nut gave me another direct line; no answer, no reply to messages. I gave the rifle to my nephew after trying to rework the mag, finally hit the mag with a hammer. It works great for him with the 10s.

Never is a long time, but I'm getting older; likely never again.

I said that about Ruger after owning a Mini 14 Lead-spreader (most inaccurate rifle I ever owned). Looked at a GP100, and it is one of the best firearms I ever owned. Never is a long time. LOL

In 2023 I bought a Savage 110 in .308 it had a threaded muzzle, when I received it I gave it the once over as you do. When I looked in the barrel from the muzzle end I saw the rifling was severely buggered at that point going about an inch into the bore from the muzzle end, I assume from the threading process. Sent it back to Savage and they re barreled it and sent it back to me, when I checked the replacement barrel it had the exact same thing with the new barrel, although not quite as bad. Anyone that has a Savage with a threaded muzzle I suggest having a look, you may have the same issue. Looking at other gun sites many others have also complained about this, I will not buy another Savage rifle. Savage customer service is crap as well.
 
I liked them a lot more in the pre-Axis days. The 111 was a much higher quality bottom-tier rifle. Nothing wrong with a MK2, they'll put a lot of lead down range without a fuss.

Are they better than S&W? Not likely, but they are built heavier, and more intelligently. When I was looking for a revolver I looked at everything that was available at the time; I zeroed in on S&W and Ruger, with the intent of finding a good used one with a price in mind. I responded to an ad for a blued 5" GP100, for less than my budget. Turned out it was new in the box, but had beed a counter gun at a dealer. I love it, I shoot PPC with it, and on ocassion IDPA. Maybe, Korth, Manhurin etc. might be nice(r), but I won't live long enough to wear the robust Ruger out. :)
 
I’ve owned quite a few 357s and the top three were a Python, I should’ve never sold, a S&W Talos SS 7 shot, should’ve never sold and a second Ruger GP100 SS that I should’ve never sold. Follow the direction I’m headed. Haha

Those 20 round mags have always been trouble. There are a number of hacks out there for them
 
Just call savage and they will send parts no questions asked. They ship from Canada. Also you have to punch out the firing pin and clean it from the bolt. They should work no problem. Just get dirty and need a break in period.

What problem are you referring to ? What rifle ?
Lakefield CustServ is really great, I've dealt with them before.
