I like them but, my Rem 7 in 284win weighs 5.5lbs with Leupold 3x9! no thanks but they are kewl rifles and good price really compared to a Blaser etc.

I’m scratching my head over why the big game and hog hunter would have 20 moa rail?

They make only 2 different receivers with this rifle...long or short action, all coming with a 20MOA rail...doesn't hurt if you don't need/use a 20MOA rail but it has one...but nice to have one built in if you do want it!

So, I've been thinking about this rifle and got to ask...what advantage would this really have over a Remington 7600?

More of european thing because of"tradition" and gun law prohibiting semi. Driven hunts are very popular so you want a quick firing gun, why not pump or a lever? (I've read this may be a bit where "tradition" comes in)

I've also ready somewhere (so take it with a grain of salt) that some european countries limit the amount of firearms you can own. As a result some european straight pulls make it easy (but expensive compared to NA) to allow chaning barrels and bolt faced to allow for more calibers with the same action.

A semi auto is quicker, and the straight pull hunting rifle mainly exist to skirt regulation, similar to the canadian straight pull ar I've heard of. That said I've also wanted to try some straight pulls.

Well I think and its my opinion..but the 22 nosler ..creedmoor...the 24’s...the 6...and the 6.5’s gren creedmoors.....25’s...I think it would be a great long range and varmint and plinking gun...
Fast for coyotes

Excellent price, check out Heym straight pulls.. the ultimate is the Merkel Speedster 300 WIN MAG, Browning Maral fastest straight pull. couple of others also.

I'm a bit surprised they didn't put it into a chassis gun, or a proper varmint rifle, would like to see 24" bbls on them, you'd think there would be people wanting to try that out in the PRS type disciplines. Suppose that will be down the road. Also a bit surprised they didn't put out a better selection of the larger cartridges like the 6.5prc & 300prc and etc. It will like ly take a couple more years and reinforcement of the conviction that it will sell.

Check out the HEYM web site.

Are you one of those guys that think CZ makes good looking rifles lol. All kidding aside I am holding out until I know for sure Bliar and CommiTrudeau OIC will stick. I hope and pray someday I can purchase or build a nice 308 and or 6.5 creed on a modular semi-auto chasis. These straight pulls are cool but don't blow smoke in up my darker areas and say it is almost as fast as a semi. As for those that like these straight pulls and are more accepting of our current situation go for it. I am not a person who is here to flame anyone, just make a poke in jest, cause I can.

Agree! Closest we can get is Browning Maral... 300 WIN MAG...SWEET!
