Savage Mark ii Failure to eject... this seems like a specialized case...

Thank you for the pictures Kim.

So an update for everyone... Called P&D Enterprises again today. They had mentioned yesterday that if they, or the distributor had the rifle in stock they would replace it. But in this case they don't have it. From my point of view it shouldn't matter wether they have a gun to replace it with or not, because the process of the retailer returning it to the distributor and the distributor returning it to the manufacturer would still be the same. After I asked the manager to look into it with his distributor, I got a call back.

Basically P&D has agreed to allow me to return the rifle for store credit which I think is reasonable. Unfortunately, I would have preferred to arrive at this result with the first call yesterday, but regardless of that, the problem will be fixed in a manor that I believe is appropriate. Shows they are concerned about their reputation, which has been upheld in my view.

So now to decide what I will be replacing it with. I think I will still get a Mark ii. Just haven't decided if I will get a basic F. Or get a BV, or FV-SR or even a cool BRJ and put a under $200 scope on either of them. I will only ever be using this rifle at the range. I think in the long run a scope will be offer me more rewards than iron sights (which are nice to have) for target shooting and plinking anyway.

What are the opinions of everyone else if you were considering either or?

And thank you to everyone that helped me narrow down the problem!

Fv-SR for sure. I love mine but that being said mine is in a TR stock. I wasn't a fan of the stock tupperware though it would be a good base for a homemade custom stock IMHO. I actually have the parts here to do a custom build on mine but then I got the TR stock and I haven't bothered. What power scope are you looking for?

So it just so happened that they had a Mark ii BVSSXP. I really didn't want the scope but it is such a cool looking rifle, I couldn't resist. Its got the heavy barrel (which i wanted originally) spiral fluted ss barrel and a grey laminate stock. The scope will obviously be replaced some time soon in the future. If anyone is interested in details let me know.

And thanks to everyone that helped me out. I can tell Canadiangunnutz is going to be a wealth of information!

Here it is. Ill be picking it up on friday.
